The Elmwood is a neighborhood in Berkeley California that has a rich history, which we will present on this page, using archival materials gathered over the past century or so.
The name "Elmwood" derives from the many elmwood trees in the neighborhood. A real estate brochure designated this district "Elmwood" in 1905, and the name has persisted for over a century now.
